Charlotte Dance Festival Youth Gala

Youth Gala brings together area dance studios, academic school dance programs and universities to share their artistry with each other in a performance.

Performers are youth and college students. Choreographers can be professional or students.

Dancer Fee: $85 per dancer


Student Participation Fee includes

4 classes over 2 days

2 lunches

1 T-shirt

1 ticket to the CDF Gala


The $85 fee does not include tickets for parents to the CDF Gala or the Youth Gala.


Only 1 work from each group will be selected, but you can submit up to 2 works for adjudication.

Additional students from your school/program can attend the festival by paying the $85 fee if there is space.  


  • Performers must be 12 years or older and enrolled in a youth or college program.   

  • Maximum number of pieces 1 group can submit: 2

  • A maximum of 1 work will be selected from each group

  • Minimum Length: 3 minutes 

  • Maximum Length: 6 minutes 

  • Performing students must participate in all classes

  • Choreographers can be professional or students.

  • The number of dancers that you submit in your application is the number we expect to attend. 

  • Replacements for dancers who become injured are allowed.

  • New: Dance works must have a minimum of 4 dancers.
