Charlotte Ballet
Charlotte Ballet is a Charlotte-based, world class repertory dance ensemble that performs classic, contemporary and cutting-edge dance with virtuosity, energy and artistic excellence. Each performance season runs October to April and features five performance series. Charlotte Ballet Academy offers expert instruction to students of all ages who are training for professional careers in dance, as well as those who are interested in simply experiencing the joy and benefit of dancing. Located at 701 North Tryon Street, Charlotte Ballet’s home – the Patricia McBride and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance contains six dance studios and a 200-seat performance venue.

Belmont School of Ballet
The Belmont School of Ballet began in 2006 as an extension of the Charlotte School of Ballet which was founded in 1968 by Gay Porter. The Belmont School of Ballet offers the highest levels of instruction in classical ballet, tap and jazz. Teachers are qualified and experienced in teaching both children and adults. Classes are offered for students age 3 to adult. The ballet curriculum is based on both the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance, London England and the Cecchetti Council of America. Classes are also offered in pointe, variations, tap, jazz, modern and pilates. Performing is an important aspect of dancer’s training. We seek opportunities to perform throughout the community as well as full length story ballets. Ballet instruction offers students skills that can be used throughout their lives. Poise, grace discipline and self confidence are invaluable assets.

Charlotte School of Ballet
The Charlotte School of Ballet was founded in 1968 by Gay Porter and was the first classical studio in Charlotte, NC. The studio has provided a successful pre-professional training program that has prepared many dancers for careers in the most elite ballet companies. Including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and San Francisco Ballet. Students from the school have received scholarships to study with David Howard, Luigi, UNCSA, USC, Harvard Dance to name a few. The Charlotte School of Ballet also has trained dancers for contemporary companies such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Alvin Ailey, Alonzo Kings Lines Contemporary Ballet Company and careers on Broadway and in Television. Many of our dancers have also been accepted into prestigious summer programs throughout the United States. The Charlotte School of Ballet's training creates strong dancers with clean technique that is adaptable to any style of dance. The Charlotte School of Ballet offers classes for any level and age in ballet, modern, jazz, and tap.
