The Charlotte Dance Festival is a featured once a year event hosted by Dance Artist Alliance CLT (as of 2023). 


CDF is a weekend long event in the spring featuring:


- Masterclasses and workshops

- CDF Gala for professional performers


- CDF Youth Gala for student performers


- CDF Repertoire Ensemble for local Charlotte professional and college pre-professional dancers to get the opportunity of performing the work of a featured guest artist at the CDF Gala. 

- Presenting work of multiple genres including concert, social, and ethnic dance forms.

The festival began in 2006 and offers a platform for professional choreographers, dancers and teaching artists to share their knowledge and art with each other and the Charlotte community.

This event falls under DAACLT's mission:


The mission of Dance Artist Alliance CLT is to enhance and contribute to the equitable growth of the Charlotte region’s dance community at the intersection of multiple genres.

The vision of DAACLT is to foster a unified, supportive, and inclusive dance community in the Charlotte Area. The values of DAACLT are: 

Advocacy  - advocating for equitable access to resources for dancer and dance organizations.

Awareness & Education  - promoting the development of innovative ideas and information related to the dance community


Collaboration  - working to develop partnerships that benefit dancers and dance organizations locally, nationally and internationally.
